One of the most useful applications for the cloud is in education. With the help of cloud technology schools will be able to provide more effective resources to students while spending less. Students can now go to school online for a fraction of the cost of a full time college, there are even resources online that are completely free of charge changing the education landscape entirely, all thanks to cloud computing.

What you are looking at here is Epic Game's Unreal Engine 1 vs Unreal Engine 4. Unreal 1 was released in 1998 and was considered the peak of computer graphics back in the day. Today we know video games as something completely different, they are fully immersive and are reaching the point where it is tough to draw the line between the digital and the real world.

This weeks Throwback Thursday is something close to my heart. This video shows how kids react to the original Nintendo Gameboy, I had one of these as a kid and still have it to this day, so many great memories. Some of their reactions are hilarious to say the least, my favorite quote from this video has to be "I kinda feel bad for people in the past.

As I sit here on vacation, wading in the nice fresh water of Lake Winnipesaukee and breathing in the fresh New Hampshire air, I find myself with my iPad connected to the Cloud and the world as if I were sitting at home. With my Newstand app I can download the latest issue of my favorite tech magazine, CPU: Computer Power User (in case you were wondering), stream all my music through iTunes and even let my son watch the latest Mickey Mouse episode with the Disney Junior app.

ILTA 14 is right around the corner, this week long event has showcased the latest in legal technology for nearly 40 years. To help get everyone excited we thought that we would dedicate a throwback Thursday to showcase what was at ILTA 09.

The first iPhone

The first iPhone was released in July 2008, in 2009 the app explosion was in full swing with over 2 billion apps downloaded in 2009 alone (that number is now at 50 billion). On another note satelite navigation was just coming to mobile phones in 2009, I don't know about you but I'd be eternally lost without sat nav on my phone.

Technology continues its relentless advance into our lives, next up is wearable technology. I'm not sure how quickly all of this will be adopted or how soon you will see someone checking the status of their underwear on their iPhone, but it could be sooner than you think.

A “cloud integrator” is a fancy name for an IT consultant who helps you set up and integrate the various software and solutions into a cloud service specific for your business. But buyer beware! The cloud is brand new technology and you don’t want just anyone setting you up on this.

Some very useful advice here on how to help your kids get the most out of their tablets this school year. I've personally used many of these apps and I can attest to their value. Many families already have this technology in their homes why not use it?

Each year tablets become more useful to students, both college and high school (and lower grades, as well). Amazingly portable with fantastic battery life, there are a lot of advantages to using them in your pursuit of education.
